Fuel and Lube Technician
We are currently recruiting a Fuel and Lube Technician to join our growing team within the Kamloops/Merritt area of British Columbia. Candidates should demonstrate a history of experience as a technician handling heavy-duty equipment service and maintenance with a primary focus on equipment fueling and greasing, fluid checks, inspection of various belts, hoses and filters, checking air levels and gauges and basic maintenance with limited supervision and direction.

General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work safely in a mining or civil construction environment following the procedures and policies that are in place
- Fuel, grease, and lubricate equipment
- Participate in pre-job hazard assessments & inspections prior to commencing any job
- Follow equipment service and maintenance schedules and advise if repair is required
- Service attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
- Clean, lubricate and perform other daily and scheduled routine maintenance work on tools and equipment
- Assist mechanics with equipment adjustments and repairs or replace defective parts, components or systems
- Conduct pre and post operational checks and safety inspections on equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Assist mechanic with completing general work orders including recording parts used by part number and quantity
- Assist mechanic in testing equipment for proper performance
- Accurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs
- Daily 360° inspection of all equipment for operational and safety checks
- Perform work to your greatest ability and of the highest quality
Requirements:
- Ability to pass mandatory Drug/Alcohol pre-screen and obtain FIT test in advance of employment start date
- Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification
- Class 5 Driver’s License with air endorsement, reliable transportation, and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract
- Be safety conscious and extremely comfortable driving in all types of inclement weather to get to and from worksites or point of company-based transportation
- Positive safety behaviours with ability to work safely and effectively while completing and following an FLHA
- Operates safely with care and attention to the equipment, the jobsite and the crew
- 3 plus years’ experience operating a CAT Excavator
- Willingness to step out of the cab and perform labour tasks if and when required
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and handling up to 50lbs
- Stable work record with preferred experience in an industrial environment preferred
- Ability to work both DAY and/or NIGHT Shifts with unpredictable and/or conflicting deadlines
- Ability to interact positively with co-workers and supervisors
- Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training
- Effective communication and people skills
- Strict attention and compliance with equipment cleanliness, maintenance and completing logs
